On the Rules: All weekly writing challenges will be issued on a Thursday and run until the next Thursday. That means you always have seven days to write a fic (or multiple fic, you may enter any individual challenges as many times as you like) of at least 600 words based on the given prompt. Thursday, after the challenge closes, a voting post will be made in which everyone can vote for their favorite stories. We'll count the results and post the winner(s) on Mondays!

You can review the rules here.

Weekly Challenge #4

Apologies for the voting post being up so late this week. As a result, voting for Challenge #4 will close on Tuesday, October 12th to accommodate the time lost. I'm a little disappointed that participation was so low for this one, despite having an extension, but I'm pleased to see some newcomers to the community! We hope you stick around for future challenges!

IMPORTANT NOTICE BEFORE VOTING: We have now issued a new rule when it comes to voting. You may not vote for yourself. Please keep this in mind while voting. Besides, it's always nice to show another author a little bit of recognition.

Also, a few members of the mod team also take part in other Who-related activities. The lovely spadul is one of the co-maintainers of eleven_amy and at the moment, they're currently running past the idea of a series five re-watch if anyone is interested. And I run therewerecracks, which is a daily cap community focusing on the Moffat-era. So, if anyone feels like taking a walk to either of those two communities, please feel free!

Hello! Just wanted to say thanks for the community - I was so excited to find it! I haven't written fic in a long time, and this is my first ever Doctor Who story. I'd love to get feedback and reviews, if people don't mind. I also hope that I did the challenge right, I'm new to livejournal as well.

Anyway, thanks for reading!

Hello, everyone! We have decided to extend the current challenge (Photo Prompts) for another week. I really hate to do this considering we had an extension for the last challenge, but at the time when this challenge would usually officially close, there was only one entry. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed that we have to extend another challenge so soon after getting off the ground, but I know that other extraneous factors might be in play and of course, the fact that we're in the middle of a lengthy hiatus doesn't help. However we would love to see some more participation from this challenge, even if you haven't participated in any of the previous challenges. I'm hoping that giving you all another week to write will do just that!

The new deadline for this challenge is Thursday, October 7th
. Please make sure you submit your fics before then or at least by the end of that day. Again, good luck and happy ficcing!

P.S. If you have any potential challenge ideas or suggestions on encouraging more participation, we would love to hear them! Also, please be aware of the rules before you begin posting.

Weekly Challenge #4

PHOTO PROMPT

Yes, it's another round of photo prompts! Here are several photos to help serve as possible prompts for this challenge. You may use one, a few, or even all if you're feeling that creative for your fic. Also, you do not have to "claim" a photo. Different authors may use the same photo(s) if they wish, because their stories will usually have different results.

We hope this gives you all plenty of inspiration and ideas! Also, a quick reminder: Please do not reformat text when you post - meaning do not post with larger/smaller text or colored and different fonts. Just use the default LJ text/font.
